Fees & Insurance

For your convenience, we do accept Visa and Mastercard. If you belong to a prepaid health plan (HMO, PPO, IPA, etc.), please have your physician write a referral. Even if we do not participate with your health plan, this may help you receive some reimbursement. You should check with your medical plan in advance to see if they will cover your office visit or surgery. We will be happy to work with you and your health plan to provide the care that you need.

We often see patients outside network plans and will work with you and your insurance company.

We do accept Medicare and other miscellaneous insurance companies. Please call our office regarding your insurance plan. If your insurance requires a referral, you must have it at the time of your visit. If not, you will have to reschedule your appointment.

Surgical fees are determined by the complexity of your operation. We will file your insurance for your surgery. If your insurance pays all of your surgical fees, any overpayment will be promptly refunded to you. We realize that larger surgical fees may pose a burden to the financial resources of a family. We will try to work with you every way possible regarding any outstanding balance on your account. If you require an operation but your financial resources are limited, let us know, and we will be happy to work with you to provide the care that you need.

Some insurance companies and government agencies pay the full amount of claims; others do not. Medicare and many insurance companies have deductibles or a percentage allowance which may not correspond to your actual charges. It is your responsibility to pay such deductibles or balances which are not paid by your insurance.

It is also your responsibility to check with your insurance carrier to be sure that they will cover the cost of your surgery. Some insurance companies require a second opinion and others will only pay participating physicians or place a limit on the amount of coverage they will pay. We will be happy to assist you in any way; but remember, any financial benefit that you receive from your insurance company is strictly a matter of settlement between you and that insurance company. Financial responsibilities for services rendered rest with the patient or his/her family regardless of insurance coverage.
